"The Mersey Docks Board opposed the committee's first Bill.."

[edit]

Is that the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board? If so, we can wikilink that. Harfarhs (talk) 10:33, 19 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

"the latter"

[edit]

"...before joining the latter at Salford Quays" – does that refer to joining the Irwell? I think the phrasing is a long way from being sufficiently clear. I would probably recommend (even in the lead) saying something like "...joining the new course of the Irwell at...", but I invite comments. Harfarhs (talk) 11:00, 19 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

As a frequent visitor, I have run along the waterways in that area from Salford Quays continuously along the canal bankside and then along the northern bank of the Irwell past Pomona Docks and the Bridgewater Canal to Castlefield. I have tried to make the wording a bit more precise. Paul W (talk) 12:23, 19 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Congratulations on your edits to that and other parts of the article. IMHO it now deserves its FA rating far more than it previously did! Harfarhs (talk) 13:06, 19 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
