There are several problems with this article. I do not have the answers, but the issues raise questions. (I was an Air Force dependent at the base in the 50s, hence my interest.)
"At the time of the crimes, Harvey served in the United States Army and was stationed at the Zaragoza Air Base" This seems unlikely, and also seems to contradict some of the later discussion. Zaragoza was a US Air Force base, not Army. If in fact he was US Army at the time and stationed at the base, what was he doing there? Or was his father stationed there (see 3 below)?
"further narrowed down the suspect list to officers serving at the Zaragoza Air Base." Why would the list include only officers? There were many more airmen than there were officers on the base, and there were also military dependents and contractors.
"the son of a high-ranking lieutenant stationed at the Zaragoza Air Base but was not part of the unit assigned there" Lieutenants are not high-ranking; it is the lowest rank of officer. Also, was Harvey stationed at the base, or was his father (see 1 above)? And what does "not part of the unit stationed there" mean?
"After months of investigating and gathering clues, investigators officially identified Harvey as the most likely perpetrator in 2018." What clues led investigators to conclude that Harvey did this?
"There he worked in the local police department and was even promoted'' to sheriff" Sheriffs in the US are elected, not promoted, as far as I know.
