Merger proposal

[edit]

HyperGaruda has proposed that new article Hazrat Shah Makhdum (R) be merged into longstanding article Shah Makhdum on the grounds that they are about the "same subject".

  • Don't merge - There is an unfortunate similarity in names and occupations, but these are two different individuals. The new article, about someone active in the early 14th century, cites: "Shah Makhdum Rupos (R)". Banglapedia.. Although WP describes the subject of the older article as 14th-century, that appears to be a mix-up, because the main source ("Makhdum Shah (R)". Banglapedia.) says he died in 1291 AD. --Worldbruce (talk) 13:42, 6 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Don't merge- They are two different person, who were Sufi and preached Islam in Bangladesh.
  • Nom's comment: I just noticed. Consider this merger proposal closed, although I will probably move the title of Hazrat Shah Makhdum (R) to something that complies with MOS:ISLAM and WP:COMMONNAME. --HyperGaruda (talk) 15:08, 6 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
