Aun Weor

[edit]

I'm familiar with this author, and he indeed refers to this form of tantrism. I don't think his books are ideal references however, they could be considered primary sources, and they are the doctrines of a new-age syncretic mystic gnostic christian movement (with its own taboos and beliefs which are not necessarily those of ancient traditions). It may on the other hand be usable if the article was more complete and also spawned to modern derivations, if Aun Weor's movement (and/or splinter groups) are notable enough to keep this tradition alive... 76.10.128.192 (talk) 12:32, 17 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

First mention of this?

[edit]

When is the first mention of this practice in literature? 73.73.127.102 (talk) 20:59, 28 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Dates of Sanskrit texts are notoriously difficult; there are clear mentions from around the 10th century onwards. Earlier mentions seem to be using the word just to mean sexual intercourse, not necessarily implying any sort of ritual. Chiswick Chap (talk) 11:06, 29 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Citations to the works of Gavin & Yvonne Frost

These are Wiccan occult writers. They are not recognized experts in Hindu traditions, and their views should not be added to the article. Skyerise (talk) 13:33, 25 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
