Magat homophone of maggot

I think this is at least debatable. I've always pronounced the second syllable to rhyme with "cat", and enough people pronounce it the same way as me that I had no idea that it was supposedly a derogatory term.MijinLaw (talk) 15:43, 24 August 2024 (UTC)

I've got to conclude the same as you. Can we get a source for this being a derogatory term? I've seen many examples of people self-describing with it, though of course people can and do self-describe with derogatory terminology. Norahqueen (talk) 13:04, 5 July 2025 (UTC)
