Machines vs machines

[edit]

I ran into an issue when tweaking the article, and that is that "machines" in lower-case is used in most instances to describe the robots. I believe it should probably be "Machines" in upper-case because they are seen as a faction unto themselves, one that just happens to be called the Machines. The HEPHAESTUS-controlled animal machines are independent from some other more generic form of machine. The Game Developer article seems to back this up by using the capitalized form at times. Still, I didn't want to fully find and replace unless there was consensus for this. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 06:06, 8 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

I thought about it when I put the article together originally. Most articles I've seen use lowercase and sites like Game Informer were consistent between Zero Dawn and Forbidden West (). The tense was also never mentioned during the Zero Dawn FAC and machine is lowercase on that article as well. I'm not opposed to changing it to capital if a consensus says so though. -- ZooBlazer 06:17, 8 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
