Just out of interest, did the animals there die during the sinking or were they already dead? From some of my dive buddies they've said they were refrigerated carcasses being transported. I'll try and map out the wreck while diving it this year as well Skipper is (talk) 20:23, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

This was on the shipwreck list. Could be integrated in article. "It It was on its way from Kopar (former Yugoslavia) to Tartus in Syria with a load of 104 articulated lorries, some utility vehicles and a Lada passenger car. It sank, well it capsized, after it developed a serious port list, apparently due to a (computer generated?) problem, controlling the water ballast tanks. The Dutch Submarines foundation produced a documentary on the Zenobia in 2010, 30 years after its sinking with the story of the sinking, the gossip (was the Israeli secret service, the Mossad involved?) and amazing underwater footage." --G-41614 (talk) 12:40, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Was it really on its maiden voyage?

The ship is listed in the category "ships lost on their maiden voyage" - but was it really though? This article says that she was delivered in late 1979, and made her first voyage from Volos in Greece, and that the route was then extended to Koper in January 1980. The sinking happened in June 1980, when the ship had been in service for more than half a year. I think it should be removed from this category as it is extremely unlikely to be correct. 152.65.47.201 (talk) 15:30, 17 April 2023 (UTC)
