Nigeria is not Korea

[edit]

But it seems that Nigeria's figures in the Statistics section are Korea's... 7th in HDI?, 4th in car production?

Correct! I will change this. (Heroeswithmetaphors) talk 15:23, 7 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted as pure vandalism or a blatant hoax, because...

The subject of the articole is real. MIKT are cited by various journals, such as EAST (East Asia Strategies) and various source on the web: http://seekingalpha.com/article/247492-mikt-another-bric-in-the-making http://ftalphaville.ft.com/blog/2011/01/17/460756/brics-mikts-and-oneills-lucrative-lexicon/ http://complexindulgence.blogspot.com/2011/01/mikt-is-new-brics.html

I'm affraid the probelm came from the fact that I was not able to ad a proper reference list even if a added a reference. This maily because is my first day on wikipedia and I'm still a "newbe". I would be looking forward to hear from any more experienced wikipedian how to avoid this problem in the future.

Best regards FGM

  • I have my doubts - the 3 refs shown all date back to January 2011 and speculate whether MIKT will become a term like BRIC. The apparent total lack of Google news hits since then suggests that the term never caught on. PamD 09:21, 7 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Odd statistics

[edit]

As I can see, values in statistics are wrong or misplaced — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.174.54.100 (talk) 00:32, 19 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

MIKTs or MINTs

[edit]

There is no independent mention to the term MIKT or MINTS outside this Wikipedia article. All the comments, articles and links provided - most importantly those referring to O'Neill only refer to MINTs - Mexico, Indonesia, Nigeria and Turkey. There is no reference to South Korea as part of this group of countries. I welcome clarification/new references from the OP before I begin editing the article to more accurately reflect the research and links.  Preceding unsigned comment added by Ajisekanla (talkcontribs) 13:03, 2 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Ajisekanla, indeed you are right! I will fix this problem. (Heroeswithmetaphors) talk 15:24, 7 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Page title

[edit]

All of the reliable sources I have seen only refer to MINT, not MIKT. I have copied over to MINT countries the main MINT content from this page. A Google search for MIKT does not produce any reliable results. I suggest that we build a consensus on turning this page into a re-direct. (Heroeswithmetaphors) talk 16:16, 7 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • Yes, that's why there really should be no page on MIKT. They all appear to be the same variant...did O'Neill make up MIKT, MIST and now MINT? MINT is the only one that provides results, and we should merge this page with MINT. Viller the Great (talk) 02:04, 26 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
