Edit request: expand/correct early DriveCam history (COI disclosed)

Conflict of interest disclosure: I am Bill Carpenter, an early investor in and former CEO of DriveCam, Inc. (now Lytx), a role I held in the early-to-mid 2000s. Because of this connection, I am not editing the article directly and am instead requesting that an uninvolved editor review and, if appropriate, implement the change below, per Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.

Summary of proposed change: The current "History" section is accurate as far as it goes, but can be corrected and expanded using additional independent sources I've located. Specifically:

1. A December 2002 patent milestone and the June 2005 Series B financing (Menlo Ventures and JMI Equity, $18 million) are independently documented but not currently in the article.
2. DriveCam's 2005 inclusion on the Inc. 500 list, and Bruce Moeller's appointment as president/CEO in late 2004, are independently documented but not currently in the article.
3. The September 2008 appointment of Brandon Nixon as CEO is already cited in the article via Automotive Fleet; I'd suggest lightly expanding that sentence to note the economic context (the 2008 financial crisis) since that is independently documented in the same source.

Proposed replacement text for the relevant paragraphs, with full citations:

Lytx, formerly DriveCam, Inc., was founded in 1998 by Gary Rayner. Rayner wanted a version of a "flight recorder" that could identify the root cause of vehicle crashes and assign responsibility. In 1999, DriveCam received a grant from the Transportation Research Board (administered by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine) to test the viability and utility of information captured by the DriveCam Video Event Data Recorder (VEDR). Also in 1999, Rayner met Tom Lafleur at an engineering conference; Lafleur became co-founder and lead investor of an angel investment group that made the company's initial $1m outside investment.

In early 2000, Ed Andrew joined the company as president, while Rayner continued to manage hardware and software product development. By November 2002, the company had received three patents related to its DriveCam video event data recorder technology. Rayner remained CEO and chairman of the board until April 2003 when he left the company and was replaced by Bill Carpenter as CEO.

Bruce Moeller joined as president and CEO in late 2004. In June 2005, DriveCam completed an $18 million Series B financing round with Menlo Ventures and JMI Equity. That year, DriveCam was included on Inc. magazine's list of the 500 fastest-growing privately held companies in the U.S., a distinction it held for three consecutive years.

In 2007, DriveCam's Consumer Drivision, led by Bill Carpenter who was brought back by Moeller, partnered with American Family Insurance to launch a video feedback program allowing parents to review their teenage children's driving safety. In September 2008, amid the onset of the 2008 financial crisis, Brandon Nixon was appointed chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors, joining from ViaSat.

I'm glad to answer any questions about sourcing. I have additional first-hand knowledge of this period (including my own role as an early investor, board member, and CEO from 2003–2004). I have original, contemporaneous source documents that I can upload as needed. Interesting stuff!

Your contribution is appreciated, and I bet you do have some interesting first hand knowledge (I think being a fly on the wall in the boardroom would be fascinating). However, Wikipedia requires that the information published in articles is Verifiable. This means articles have to have independently published sources. "I was there and I saw it happen" may well be true, but we can't add it without verifiable sources.

Your proposed text does add some sources but they are insufficient for the claims:

• The only source cited by the first paragraph is what appears to be an interview with Gary Rayner (the citation is missing a URL), which is not an independent source (see: WP:IS).
• The second paragraph does not have any sources.
• The third paragraph has sources cited for all the claims, but the source for Bruce Moeller joining the company is an interview with Bruce Moeller, and the Inc magazine list has no particular information other than the name of the company (and does not support the claim that it held the distinction in subsequent years).
• The fourth paragraph has no citation regarding the return of Bill Carpenter (which I understand you're saying is you, but we can't just take your word for it).

I'm going to mark this edit request as declined. If you would like to expand this article my suggestion is to start by trying to find a few high quality independent sources about the early history of Lytx and then add to the article based on what they say.
