Famous case

I suggest to add two sentences to the information under the "Sex" heading which is under "Epidemiology" for Lupus, which would speak to new research discoveries focused on age-associated B cells and their relation to the female bias in lupus. Here are the two sentences I suggest, including their citations:
Age-associated B cells, a type of B cell that typically increase as people age, proliferate at an earlier age in people with an autoimmune disease such as lupus.[1] A study has shown the dysfunction of age-associated B cells may be a contributor to the female bias of lupus[2] due to a gene on the X-chromosome that is also known to escape silencing by X-chromosome inactivation, TLR7.[3] Brielle White (talk) 00:42, 9 December 2024 (UTC)

Research Suggestion
[edit]I suggest adding information under the “Research” section or a “New drug possibilities” section about emerging work on Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) and lupus. Recent research suggests a potential mechanistic link between EBV infection and systemic lupus erythematosus. Several companies are developing EBV vaccines, and early clinical trials are underway. These vaccines would not treat existing lupus but may reduce the risk of initial EBV infection, which has been identified as a possible trigger contributing to lupus development.
