Star Wars Episode VII

[edit]

Luke Skywalker has been confirmed as appearing in Episode VII, its just not determined whether it will be as a main character and who'll portray him. In fact if you can keep the BS quoted by Dale Pollock as verifiable content then i don't see why this has to go???edit luke dies in the last jedi because f**k you thats why The link is in the text Star Wars Episode VII.  Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.21.136.74 (talkcontribs) 00:30, 4 November 2012

New leading image

[edit]

Hey everyone! I propose we get a new leading image for the page. In my humble opinion, the current one is terrible. Since there aren't any decent ones in the Commons, we would need to find a fair-use image. Would anyone oppose me going and searching for a new, fair-use image? Nothing prevents you from looking, suggesting or even being WP:BOLD, but starting a discussion first is a good idea. Consider WP:APPNOTE. The rule is basically "Yes, we can have a non-free WP:LEADIMAGE of a fictional character in a WP-article about that character." Recent minor discussion on that at Talk:Paul_Atreides#RfC_on_the_infobox_image.
My view: The current WP:LEADIMAGE is ok, I recognize the character, which is the main idea. Having young/old is reasonable, but not necessary. If there is to be only one, IMO it should be a young one, more iconic, also, it should be with lightsaber. Some options at . If "terrible" is about the low resolution, non-free pics on en-WP has to be low-res, it's part of WP:NFCCP #2. If you haven't, read the "Summary" at to get a sense of the requirements. This one should not be public domain. I have changed it as it is literally just a photograph of a poster that is copyrighted material. I don't get how it would be public domain Wcamp9 (talk) 14:54, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Not public domain, but acceptable license, and uploader seems legit. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 15:18, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Fictional character writing

[edit]

Another user recently made me aware that some of the ways I've been editing character pages may not be correct based on WP guidelines. I'm more than happy to listen to feedback and correct my mistakes. In the meantime, I would like to ask that nobody remove all of my many edits of this page in an attempt to fix certain mistakes. If you find major faults with the article, let's have a discussion and I will be happy to address all concerns and make changes. Thank you! Wafflewombat (talk) 23:55, 30 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Assertion of notability

[edit]

Hi, I've opened a discussion at the Star Wars WikiProject regarding articles having few or no citations asserting notability, and I invite any interested editors to participate and help rectify this issue. - Cukie Gherkin (talk) 20:30, 3 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hamill's portrayal

[edit]

in the beginning of the article, it is just said that hamill portrays luke in the mandalorian and the book of boba fett. but it should maybe be noted that cgi was heavily used in these scenes, because hamill isn't as young as luke is. Warpfrz (talk) 11:49, 4 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Note on current leadimage

The chosen one in Star Wars

It's unusual, but yes, this seems to be a freely licensed image: Commons:Deletion requests/File:Luke Skywalker - Welcome Banner.jpg. So non free can't be used. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 16:00, 20 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
