"Lucha libre" as a series of articles
[edit]Since this page is ethnocentric to Mexican lucha libre and it fails to mention that the term has been used for many decades and other styles throughout the region (as far south as Argentina), this page would probably be best under the title of "Lucha libre in Mexico", with other similar pages being written for the other countries in the region. For starters, Professional wrestling in Puerto Rico should also be under "Lucha libre in Puerto Rico" since that is by far the most common term for the PR variant a well. - There are a lot of "professional wrestling in", articles, and I'd argue that one should probably exist for Mexico as well, with information on Lucha Libre. This article should have some more worldwide bearing, aside from simply in Mexico. If you'd like to change the article, feel free. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 08:06, 11 June 2018 (UTC)
- It's a move that I prefer not to do unilaterally, but there certainly are issues with the article. Even the very first sentence of the lead ("Lucha libre is the term used in Mexico for professional wrestling") is factually erroneous by omission, since it only mentions a single country out of several that make use of the term. Do you think that the wrestling WikiProject at large would be interested in the matter? Old School WWC Fan (talk) 05:52, 12 June 2018 (UTC)
- I think that's the perfect place to bring this conversation up, actually. The project works on all sorts, so should be interested in something so widespread. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 09:33, 12 June 2018 (UTC)

Odd choice of examples
[edit]Given that this article is about lucha libre i.e. Mexican wrestling, why are all the examples given in the Luchas de apuestas section from WWE......? -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 16:07, 16 January 2020 (UTC)
