Proposed sourced update from article subject

[edit]

Hello. I am Luca Calvani, the subject of this article, so I would like to disclose my conflict of interest and avoid editing the biography directly.

The article currently contains several long-standing maintenance tags concerning sourcing, reliance on primary sources and a lack of inline citations. It is also significantly out of date.

I have prepared an updated, more concise draft based primarily on independent published sources, including Vanity Fair Italia, Sky TG24, Gambero Rosso, Filmitalia and Toscana Film Commission, together with primary sources used only for straightforward publication and programme information.

I would be grateful if an independent editor could review the proposed changes and incorporate any material they consider appropriate.

One factual correction in the existing article is particularly straightforward: the article currently states that I married Alessandro Franchini on 29 September 2024. The correct date is 29 September 2025, as reported by Vanity Fair Italia.

Thank you for reviewing the proposed update. Gastone2017 (talk) 05:36, 2 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Proposed update and improved sourcing

[edit]

Hello. I am Luca Calvani, the subject of this article, and I am therefore disclosing my conflict of interest rather than editing the biography directly.

The article currently carries several long-standing maintenance tags regarding insufficient citations, reliance on primary sources, source reliability and lack of inline citations. It is also substantially out of date.

I would like to propose an update based primarily on independent published sources, while keeping the article concise and neutral.

The main areas that appear to need updating are:

  • later acting work, including *The Man from U.N.C.L.E.*, *Shakuntala Devi* and *In the Fire*;
  • my feature-film directing debut, *Il cacio con le pere* (2023), which I also co-wrote and acted in;
  • my work as a judge on *Cortesie per gli ospiti*;
  • my participation in *Grande Fratello* in 2024–2025;
  • my publishing work, including the Italian cookbook *Cavoli & Merende* (EDT, 2024) and its English-language edition *A Tuscan Table* (Mitchell Beazley, 2026);
  • my appearance on BBC One's *Saturday Kitchen* in September 2026.

There are independent sources available for these additions, including Vanity Fair Italia, Sky TG24, Gambero Rosso, Filmitalia and Toscana Film Commission. Publisher and broadcaster sources can be used only for straightforward bibliographic or programme details where appropriate.

I have prepared a proposed revised biography with inline sourcing and would be happy to provide it here for review. I would appreciate an independent editor assessing which additions are appropriate and whether the improved sourcing would allow the existing maintenance tags to be reconsidered.

Thank you. Gastone2017 (talk) 05:38, 2 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
