Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons policy.

Per the Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons policy, none of the recent content regarding serious allegations concerning a band member can be included in the article. The source cited, Twitter, is rarely acceptable as a reliable source for anything, and the links provided simply didn't support the claims made. I would strongly advise people to neither add such material again, nor repeat them on this talk page - this policy applies everywhere on Wikipedia, not just in articles.

If much better sourcing becomes available it is possible that something might be added later, but any such content MUST comply with Wikipedia policies. AndyTheGrump (talk) 00:47, 10 July 2021 (UTC)

Sorry if this is the wrong way to add to a talk page, but would this be a relevant source for their disbandment? They're an underground metal core band, so it's probably the best we'd get since their official social media accounts of their disbandment aren't being accepted. A bit of a tricky one. My inclination after thinking about this is that the source (and ThePRP.com cited earlier) would probably be o.k. for Lotus Eater disbanding (which seems evident enough), but we will have to be careful going into details about the circumstances, as it still seems to come down to allegations being made on Twitter. As the source you link says though, this is a developing story, and it might be best to leave it for a day or two though, to see if anything more becomes available. If nothing more definitive turns up, I'll ask for advice at fhe Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard, since we will clearly have to say something at some point. That is better, since we now have a response from the person accused. It would probably be acceptable to include something like this in the article, citing Kerrang: "In July 2021, Lotus Eater announced that they were disbanding, following accusations of sexual and physical abuse directed against vocalist Paul Collins being posted in social media. NME has now reported on this too, expanding a bit on Collins' response. I think we've got sufficient sources now to justify inclusion, and I'll add something later this evening, unless anyone has objections. AndyTheGrump (talk) 18:07, 13 July 2021 (UTC)

I've now added the proposed material (slightly reworded) to the article. If the story develops further, it may need updating. If so, WP:BLP policy still needs to be complied with, both in regards to sourcing and to content. AndyTheGrump (talk) 21:05, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
