[edit]it feels like this article was written by the one Indian person who doesn't know English well.
- I am inclined to agree. Some bits e.g. the "rasa" of "heroic rasa" remain in an Indian language (Bhojpuri? Sanskrit). I see Rasa_(aesthetics) has a wikipedia page, but that does not mean it is an English word, imho. Further, I don't understand the bit about Malin getting Lorik to go home, and not dally with the ladies in the market. 1) Why is purchasing a "new cow and a calf" upsetting, and 2) Does Malin tell Lorik this story each time he goes to the market place? I ask because suddenly the ruse seems to have been successful and Chandra and Lorik have decided to elope together for reasons unknown. Further, bearing in mind the use in Bridget Jones diary, the "unpleasant" "new cow" sounds like a metaphor for Lorik's new lover, Chandra, which makes the ruse even more puzzling.
