Shortening the Timeline

[edit]

As an early creator of the band member timeline, admitting flaws is not easy. However, in review I believe the timeline should begin in 1996. I am not advocating for the complete removal of info about the band when it was a solo project. But this is an article about Lordi (Band) not Lordi (Solo Project). This also keeps us in line with established standards set in the Discography page where there is no work prior to 2002 listed. (On that note I would also be open to the timeline starting in 2002, but 1996 would make more sense.)

Nor would I want the details about the time when Lordi was a solo project removed either. The band ended up forming with Amen and G-Stealer in 1996, so I see no reason why we can't change the timeline. HorrorLover555 (talk) 19:50, 29 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Real Names

[edit]

At some point "real" names of the members have been added to this page as if they are fact. While, I know these names are "known" within the community that alone does not meet Wikipedia's standards

Under Wikipedia’s verifiability policy, all content must be attributable to a reliable source. More importantly, the biographies of living persons policy applies to all band members and requires that any personal information, especially names that the individuals have not clearly made public, be backed by strong sourcing or removed immediately. WP:BLPPRIVACY specifically cautions against publishing private personal details without clear public confirmation.

Because there is no official confirmation or reliable sources (for most members), I suggest we remove the names from the article. If someone has a reliable, independent source that verifies these identities, I’m very open to discussing it here. But until then, leaving them in would be a BLP violation.  Preceding unsigned comment added by CerysPen (talkcontribs) 05:05, 28 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

I wanted to add a follow up to this- I believe we have good standing in naming Mr Lordi, Kalma, Kita, Otus, Awa, Ox, and possibly Amen and Enary (From what I've seen at least they haven't spoken much about their time in the band.) But, with G-Stealer, Magnum, Hella, Mana, and the previously mentioned unsures seem up in the air. CerysPen (talk) 01:03, 29 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Pinging both Tavix and RSound who added the real names of the band members past and present to the article for further comment. HorrorLover555 (talk) 09:44, 28 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
The one I added was with a source, and was done to satisfy Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2025 May 1#Nick Gore. -- Tavix (talk) 14:51, 28 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
This is the source provided that Tavix made in the edit back in April 2025:
  • "Current, former Lordi members competing to represent Finland in Eurovision Song Contest". Blabbermouth.net. 3 October 2010. Archived from the original on 7 October 2010.
Just in case anyone is curious. HorrorLover555 (talk) 03:44, 29 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
