2018: Lone White, serving as the president of the Visual Arts Association of Far North Queensland (VAAFNQ), criticizes the lack of a public "expression of interest" process for public art commissions at the newly developed Cairns Performing Arts Centre (CPAC). White argues that by not conducting an open call, the commissioning bodies effectively excluded local artists from the opportunity to contribute to the landmark regional project.
