What about Log flume's?
[edit]I think in the first paragraph of your History Section; you should mention something about Log Flumes. They were the first rapid transport for logs developed after it was determined that the Mountain side were too difficult to build Trains cost effectively, and Ox and Mules took days just to reach the mill. Logging Trucks replaced Flumes in the 1900's especially after the Army built roads for Logging Companies in the Pacific North-West. Thank you for looking into this suggestion.
