Character basis

I noticed that it isn't mention that Logan Roy is also based off of Sumner Redstone who controlled both Viacom and CBS before his daughter took over. Sumner was famous for saying "Fuck Off" it was even on his communication board after he lost the ability to speak, Logan says this constantly in the show. Both CBS and Viacom were controlled through a holding company National Amusements just like the various companies in Waystar Royco were controlled through a holding company. I always knew Shiv would come out on top because Shari Redstone successfully took over her fathers empire. Shari Redstone bears a passing resemblance to Sarah Snook who plays Shiv. There are more Logan Roy - Sumner Redstone similarities that I am blanking on currently. I have never been successful in persuading wikipedia to make an update but I think it was worth noting up top that it isn't just Murdoch. I think in terms of temperament Logan Roy sounds a lot more like Sumner Redstone.

I believe Sumners wife tried to seize control of the company after his health started to decline which is another parallel to the show, women cozying up to Logan for power. 67.185.151.211 (talk) 05:47, 11 October 2025 (UTC)
