Assessment & cleanup

I just did a little cleanup on this article, description follows...

• Copyvio - The huge chunk of "history" text was removed due to being a copyvio (copy/paste) of http://www.liverpoolexpress.com/brandnew/history.swf
• Overlinking - Once a word / phrase / person has been Wikilinked in an article, you do not need to do so again when the word / phrase / person is mentioned again...
• Ref cleanup - I moved the ref RE: the chart positions inline with each instance that it was needed...
• Stub - I am not comfortable assessing this article any higher than a stub in it's (new) current condition... If the history can be re-written (without copyvio), a few more refs added, and maybe cleanup the discography a little (tables make things pretty), it could be a decent start...

Incorrect Download Chart claims

During 2006, the song "It's a Beautiful Day" appeared on several TV commercials in the UK and parts of Europe. This led to the track entering the digital download charts.^{[citation needed]}

Five years later, the song "You Are My Love" topped the digital download charts following a re-run of a Top of the Pops episode they had appeared on thirty years before.

Much as I love Liverpool Express, the above two claims should be removed. The uncited first claim is incorrect - the song did not appear in the Official Download chart during 2006. The second claim, parroted word for word across several sites on the internet is also wrong. The questionable source says nothing about it reaching number one. It actually never made the Top 100. Downloads were the most popular form of music consumption in 2011 so any number one download would have appeared fairly high in the overall chart, which this track did not.

Also basic maths is wrong - "30 years before" "5 years later" than 2006 is 1981, not 1976 when they appeared on TOTP. FOXSOUNDZ (talk) 10:26, 18 June 2026 (UTC)

I'll remove the whole download section in a couple of weeks if no-one comes back with verifiable dates & positions. I'll leave the remaining bit about the band still playing gigs where it is as it will be under "Reunion", which is probably where it was in the first place! FOXSOUNDZ (talk) 10:36, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
