Stub

[edit]

Either this stub should be lengthened or removed. It might fool people into believing that these listed scripts are the only existing ones, which is far from the truth. There are hundreds of thousands of scripts out there. Just look at . Wanze 17:29, 2 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Creating this list was consensus on mIRC scripts page - and quite right too, as every scripter started to add his pet scripts to external links. Feel free to expand it, but lets stay to *notable* scripts, please. And I would not recommend adding external links... I think. That way it would become too easily spam/ad list.

Any article consisting only of links elsewhere. This article fits the criteria perfectly, not to mention that only Z-net seems to be notable. --TheSeer

Also, there doesn't seem to be an consensus at MIRC Scripting Language (I've checked the history) about creating this page. (TalkˑContribs) 13:25, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

[edit]

(edit conflict)Creating this was discussed on Talk:MIRC Scripting Language, was created over concerns that editors would start adding links to the main article, cluttering the page with external links and spam (that has happened repeatedly). Page follows WP:LIST, with an exception of missing lead. If the page is not deleted, I will add that. DLX 13:29, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

As far as I can tell, it wasn't discussed on the linked article (the history is short and there aren't any move or deletion logs for the page). Additionally, the links are all to poorly written articles which appear to (mostly) be a mix of advertising, original research and unverified claims. --TheSeer (TalkˑContribs) 13:34, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

mIRC game doesn't belong in the list, mIRC theme standard shouldn't haven't an article, IRCBattle is purely OR and violates WP:V constantly. Z-net and OmenServ are the only two I would consider keeping, two articles (for the sake of argument) doesn't really constitute 'enough'. I'm referencing the number of articles because of "and if/when the list grows" and "If there are enough articles on specific scripts" as on the MSL talk page. --TheSeer (TalkˑContribs) 13:49, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
To be honest, I would be happier if it would be the way you recommend. If you move those links, create the section and this article becomes redirect - I would not oppose it. I wouldn't want to do it myself, as a creator of the article - but please, go ahead. However, that section needs to be checked for spam/ad links ever so often. DLX 14:08, 10 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
