Necessary?

Is the following really necessary?

This article is about the Singapore men's team which is competing in the 2012 Malaysia Cup. For the official men's national football team, see Singapore national football team. For the women's team, see Singapore women's national football team. For the youth team, see Singapore national youth football team.

Most people searching for "lionsxii" on Wikipedia wouldn't be thinking of national teams... besides, I think that tagging format is supposed to be for articles with similar names, ie. song titles. --PenaltyKillah^Jw21 13:27, 10 January 2012 (UTC)

LIONSXII, LionsXII or Lions XII?

Club or Selection

Is it a Singaporean select team or does it act like a club? Could they sign non-Singaporeans to increase their title chances? Also are they eligible for the AFC Champions League or AFC Cup via their performance in the Malaysian League system? --TinTin (talk) 01:11, 6 February 2014 (UTC)

Even though it is no longer relevant, it was more of a Singapore selection than a competitive club in that they would not have been eligible to take part in club competition nor sign foreign players. Icedwater (talk) 03:18, 9 May 2017 (UTC)
