Bias/Propaganda

This entry is biased. For example, consider the section on the RAE 2014. We learn only what the good results were (in the University's opinion, I presume). We don't see a balanced presentation of the data, and information on areas of relative weakness.

My own view is that this article has been edited by someone within the University, with the aim of bolstering its reputation. It's especially sad that they should resort to presenting selective evidence, when they allegedly seek to foster critical thinking ability in their students.

Comprehensive Update Proposal for the “Lingnan University” Article

Hello Wikipedians, I have noticed that some of the current data in the article and the level of detail are insufficient, especially regarding the university’s history and present situation. Therefore, I am proposing a comprehensive update to the article’s content, along with supplementary references and citations for certain sections.

To improve the quality of the article, I have prepared a complete updated version in my personal sandbox: User:RY01162049/sandbox.

The main updates and additions include:

1. Reorganizing the order and content of paragraphs to make the article more structured and searchable.
2. Updating the student enrollment figures for Lingnan University.
3. Providing a comprehensive account of Lingnan University’s historical development, including detailed information on past presidents and supervisors.
4. Adding information on existing and under-construction buildings and campus facilities.
5. Updating and supplementing details about faculties and departments. Since the content mainly concerns academic units, I suggest renaming the section to “Academic Organisations” for better accuracy.
6. Creating a dedicated section for Rankings, as this is of public interest and involves multiple ranking institutions. This section will be integrated with the Achievements content.
7. Adding information about distinguished scholars in leadership positions at Lingnan University.
8. Supplementing details about student quality and residential life.
9. Adding information about notable alumni of Lingnan University.
10. Linking certain terms in the content to other relevant existing Wikipedia pages to enhance interactivity.
11. Adding references and citations to support the content.
12. Including photos of important figures and facilities at Lingnan University.
