Change

I changed the first sentence of one of the paragraphs, from:

"Lifebuoys are always considered suitable by the Royal Life Saving Society for use in swimming pools during emergencies"

to

Lifebuoys are not considered suitable by the Royal Life Saving Society for use in swimming pools during emergencies"

Life buoy should be in two words

The name of this object should be "life buoy" instead of "lifebuoy". How to correct the article name? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 石庭豐 (talk • contribs) 11:36, 1 January 2012 (UTC)

I believe that it shouldn't. SOLAS as well as the LSA Code are the two main documents providing requirements for the lifebuoys and it is always written in one word there. While other names for lifebuoys are acceptable they are all considered informal and unprofessional. -- VileGecko (talk) 05:05, 4 October 2020 (UTC)

Etymology (synonyms)

The intro of this article is "A lifebelt, lifebuoy, water wheely, ring buoy, lifering, lifesaver, life donut or life preserver, also known as a Kisbee ring, or Perry buoy,"... that's 11 different names for this article.
