de-orphaning page

[edit]

I've looked at some potential de-orphaning links backed by independent sources. Should any of these links be fit for use, implementation by an editor would be greatly appreciated.

(1) 'Memoir', section 'Ordinary people' - increased demand for ghostwritten memoirs, ordinary people recording their stories (https://www.theguardian.com/books/2022/sep/24/ghostwritten-memoirs-industry-boom-ordinary-people-tell-stories?), rise in self-commissioned memoirs (https://www.wsj.com/lifestyle/retiree-ghostwriter-memoirs-8626ac8f?gaa_at=eafs&gaa_n=AWEtsqcXtEpyZnTsT9WFsN0ZFhetSTQ8ToYf5Lmv36cd3xGa5RaoUVwWwbV7DWzLwqM%3D&gaa_ts=6981e519&gaa_sig=K_itdRLaP3hztOKjiGrq0Pef_OJvSRiBGPMFGT3IcdEyQgexABcRDltfregohjfWZtxqtOCxk5gpu5yNb2VN0w%3D%3D), privately commissioned for private use (https://www.bbc.co.uk/worklife/article/20160705-memoirs-are-no-longer-just-the-realm-of-the-rich-and-famous)

(2) Alternatively under 'Autobiography', section '20th and 21st centuries' - emergence of a new sub-genre of autobiography (i.e. privately commissioned for private use by non-famous people, ghostwritten) the Guardian and BBC articles focus on both 'memoir' and 'autobiography'

(3) 'Ghostwriter', section 'Ghostwriting by field', sub-header 'Nonfiction' - supplement the paragraph on celebrities' and public figures' wide use of ghostwriters to publish memoirs and autobiographies with emerging private market for ghostwritten memoirs and autobiographies: WSJ, Guardian, and BBC all address the ghostwriters' role in the process. Extra source: https://www.forbes.com/sites/elainepofeldt/2021/12/29/this-entrepreneur-has-built-a-fast-growing-business-helping-elderly-people-tell-their-stories/

(4) 'Life writing' at the end of the 'Definition' section: information on modern developments/contemporary practices i.e. that forms of life writing such as memoirs and autobiography are now privately commissioned and created with professional assistance. Sources here would be the Guardian, BBC, and WSJ articles, as they focus on the personal endeavour of capturing the individual's life narrative

Thank you in advance, any guidance on this welcomed India Larsen (talk) 14:45, 3 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
