[edit]

Just a suggestion:

Bert Wang-Chak Chan is a research software engineer at Google DeepMind and an independent researcher known for creating Lenia, a continuous generalization of Conway's Game of Life. He holds an MSc in Cognitive Science from Lund University and a BSc in Computer Science from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Chan developed Lenia to explore lifelike, self-organizing patterns using continuous space, time, and states. His work has been recognized with awards including the Outstanding Publication of 2019 by the International Society for Artificial Life (ISAL), the Virtual Creatures Contest win at GECCO 2018, and an Honorable Mention for the ALife Art Award.

He has collaborated with researchers at Inria, Princeton IAS, and IT University of Copenhagen, focusing on artificial life, complex systems, and evolutionary computation. His research explores open-ended evolution, morphogenesis, and the intersection of artificial life with artificial intelligence. ~2026-27080-60 (talk) 07:36, 5 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
