Origin of the name

Lemon sole is a misnomer since it's neither a real sole, nor does it have the taste of lemon. It certaintly came from the french name : "limande" or "sole limande". The french term "limande" may come from "lime". It means "file" (tool use to smooth metal, wood, etc.). Maybe because the texture of the fish's skin. Weight
[edit]the sources give fish Max weight as 3kg, page states 19kg which is fairly clearly an error 86.21.220.142 (talk) 08:24, 10 August 2024 (UTC)
