Why

[edit]

why is there nothing on the uses of lemon juice in skin care? 2001:8003:1620:6700:BD1D:F314:7703:8AF0 (talk) 03:05, 26 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for asking. The goal is to cover "the main points". This does seem to be a minor use. Chiswick Chap (talk) 05:44, 26 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
no offense but skin care is a big part of lemons 38.178.146.116 (talk) 04:03, 5 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
We can't cite blogs, forums, wikis, or medical claims from commercial skin clinics, as those are not reliable sources. We can't cite primary medical research, per WP:MEDRS, either; I have yet to see any systematic review of high-quality peer-reviewed research that we could use. ok I was confused for a second ~2026-23882-9 (talk) 07:33, 1 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
wait actually I am confused again ~2026-23882-9 (talk) 07:34, 1 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Please read the WP:RS and WP:MEDRS policies on suitable sources; you can't use talk pages as therapy. If you can find a suitable source, we can certainly use it. Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:15, 1 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

History fact contradiction

[edit]

if the lemon was first bred in 1st century BC in India, why is there an Egyptian painting from 15th century BC? something isn't correct Thomas.Osman (talk) 23:51, 20 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

First millennium BC, not century. Chiswick Chap (talk) 04:55, 21 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Hello. I think what Mr. Osman was pointing out was that 15th century BC is still 500 years previous to the 1st millennium BC stated in the intro. Is the painting, perhaps, really showing the citron, which came before the lemon: meaning that the caption below the artwork should say "citron" instead of "lemons"? Thank you. Fragile earth (talk) 02:56, 9 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Said 'citron'. Chiswick Chap (talk) 07:12, 9 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Personal bias in history section

[edit]

in the history section it states the Lemon was most likely grown in India first. However the source linked says “The true home of the lemon is unknown, though some have linked it to northwestern India”.

This isn’t a huge change obviously but it is a showcase of personal bias which should be edited out and rewritten to better represent what is stated in the source. Pearlessturn (talk) 02:10, 26 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

The lead said so; someone had tweaked the history, so I've put it back as requested. Chiswick Chap (talk) 04:17, 26 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
