[edit]According to https://www.academia.edu/6384357/Vore_s_and_Schnell_2012_Nere_kakaka_a_Veraa_Ol_storian_blong_Veraa_Stories_from_the_village_of_Veraa which is in Vera'a, Bislama and English the name Lēmērig can be split as lē + mērig and therefore related to the small island named Merig.
