I added the School Battle Cry of Lelean Memorial School today. It is simply the history behind the unique battle cry used by thousands of Lelean Memorial School students through the years. Sditoka (talk) 01:06, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

Some of the information and text in this article may be identical to others in other websites such as www.leleansworldwide.ning.com or facebook.

But if the editor cares to look carefully, he/she will find that I, Sakiasi Ditoka, was the author of the articles in those websites.

Therefore, since those articles were authored by me, I see no justification for the deletion of my contribution to wikipedia, about Lelean Memorial School.

I am the owner of this article. I believe that I should decide how it can be used. If facebook or ning or any other website disputes that, the solution is very simple; I will delete my writing on those subjects immediately on those sites.

I ask however that this article be not deleted because thousands of Lelean Memorial School alumni members have been informed of its existence on wikipedia. I believe that it deserves a place on wikipedia because it's members have impacted and continue to impact the world.

I hope for your kind consideration.

In order to use your material, please follow exactly the requirements of WP:DCM about copyright.

But the long section on the dedication of the school must be drastically shortened. Give a brief account of it: X house was named after X, who was .... . IUf the person is likely to be considered notable, make a link for his name, and then try to write the article about him. You can use the address as one of the sources for that. Clean-Up

I have cleaned up the language as recommended to make it look and sound more neutral. I have also done some formatting and it looks much neater now. I hope that it is more acceptable now to the editors. I would be grateful for advice on how to improve this site even further. Thanks.

Opppose the merge, as while the school was named in honour of him, his association to the school itself is weak (he died in 1942, and the school started in 1943). Rather, the existing Charles Oswald Lelean page could be re-focussed on the topic of Methodism in Fiji, and important topic (see Religion in Fiji) for which there is no article. This page provides some history that might be a useful starting-point for such an article, in which the content focussing on Lelean could form a section. Klbrain (talk) 15:14, 5 September 2023 (UTC)

Removing large sections of unsourced material

This article has had a tag on it since 2014, and in that time no sourcing has been found for the various claims in it., much of which I removed today. Anyone interested in finding sources for the material about the Lalean family might want to use this version of the page as "bread crumbs" for keywords to find reliable sources and then add back what's sourced. The sources I removed did not mention the school or the family at all--they are dead ends. BBQboffin^{grill me} 05:10, 19 December 2025 (UTC)

I've also added this cleanup tag to the "Notable Alumni" section: Recently removed names to linked pages have often shown unsourced claim of attendance, no mention of attendance, or that the person attended school elsewhere in Fiji. If no reference is attached to a name, actual attendance at the school is dubious and remains to be confirmed with a source. It appears that this article has been used as a WP:PROMO for the school to list names of notable Fijians where there is no evidence that they ever attended, let alone are "alumni". I have removed a few dozen names where there is no sourcing in the linked biography for their attendance.
