The reliance on single-source is misleading.
The reference on the page from Hamilton, is itself extensively referenced, including citations of conference presentations, and, especially, an American Institute of Physics first hand account by Dr. Leith. Also missing is the influence Dr. Leith's experience had on the development of the NCAR series of models after he became the NCAR Atmospheric Analysis and Prediction (AAP) division director. Dr. Leith was instrumental in bringing the first unclassified CRAY-1 computer to NCAR, because of his experience developing the LAM on similar classified systems at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. 184.23.214.166 (talk) 16:30, 31 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
