Status of legal liability.
[edit]If liability is not observable in a state of affairs, then it arises by ascription or utterance. Simply ascribing (i.e. writing to - from the Latin 'ad scribere') liability to B doesn't establish the state of affairs where B is liable and therefore doesn't establish the truth of the sentence 'B is liable' just as simply saying "The cat is sitting on the mat" doesn't establish the state of affairs where the cat is sitting on the mat and therefore doesn't establish the truth of the sentence 'The cat is sitting on the mat'. The process is one of magical incantation i.e. saying it's so makes it so. Ash101.103.70.184 (talk) 17:40, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
Why is Accounting Listed on the Right
[edit]I don't understand why the "Accounting" navigation box appears on the right side of the page. I can see some relevance, but accounting only comes up in once facet of liability, and the overwhelming presence of that box--I think--detracts from the substance of this page. Weighting issues
[edit]This article is about legal liability, but has scant discussion of liability in general and extensive discussion of some narrow areas of liability. Perhaps this article should be structured more along the lines of Family law and provide brief information and links to substantive articles, as opposed to trying to develop subjects like employer vicarious liability in a manner duplicative of dedicated articles. If this article is fully developed in its present manner, it will become exceedingly long. Arllaw (talk) 03:37, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
