Good article, don't delete.

Honestly, Wikipedia interprets a lot of ideologies into an arbitrary binary. Their historically has been lots of stuff like this. I think there's a problem with a lack of English sources. So I think it should be cleaned up and with more sources, but overall it reflects a changing conversation that gets left out a lot. Deleting it would be a serious problem for reliable political information and instead give the false impression of politics fitting a straight line. GrandPeople44 (talk) 22:25, 20 March 2026 (UTC)

Should the Philippines be mentioned in the 'Per Country' section?

Since I found this bizarre article, I'm thinking we should mention Rodrigo Duterte's presidency as a example, too. His political party is PDP, an original left-wing party known for social democracy, it grew quite conservative when he came to power as President. From what I learned, he cracked down hard on druglords, drug users, and rebels. Yet despite the fact that he described himself as a socialist, his economics were more 'neoliberal'. To be fair, it's up to any of you if it should be mentioned. Otherwise, there's a claim when the father of the current Philippine President was President, some people critical of him claimed he was a socialist, and if it's true, he might have promoted social economics. His (Marcos Sr.) 'New Society' nationalised some big companies, promoted a 'Green Revolution' since my mum said the constabulary can catch us if someone use plastic for bags and wrappers, etc. If there's any more I didn't mention, please let me know. On Ideology

First of all, I hope you're doing well. The sad news is that there's a heatwave coming your way, but let's hope it won't be too bad. Maybe it won't be as hot as expected, or maybe the heatwave won't last as long. Let's hope.

But anyway, I have noticed that you have been removing "left conservatism" from the infoboxes of at least two parties, with your explanation being that it is not an ideology. However, it has been described as an ideology in reliable sources (and by this article itself). I compiled three of such sources:

The assumption you rely on here is simple - you would argue that "left conservatism" would be a counterpart of "right conservatism". But this is not so, as the scope of "left conservatism", at least as defined by political science sources, is broader. It is an ideology in the same right that right-libertarianism and right-liberalism are, which of course can and are used in the infobox. This is also the reason why "right conservatism" does not have its own article, but left-conservatism, right-libertarianism, right-liberalism itd. do. It is thus way more of an ideology than also centrism for example, something that also lands in infoboxes as an ideology for some reason (see United Russia).

No, these sources were fundamentally already known during the broad discussion about the future of this article earlier this year. These sources primarilly starting from top to bottom refers to old left "left-conservatism" known for example from the Marxist-Leninist states. Any of these given sources doesn't give a comparative resume study of one coherent ideology and cannot override broad consensus from this year here, for opening of this article that is that is encompasses a range of political stances, not just singular ideology as term left-conservatism is used in multiple ways, as these studies refers to various usage if it.
