Noting possible conflicts of interest first. Yes, I am Chris Travers, and am deeply involved in this open source project (I am one of the founding members and a member of the core team). I recognize the potential conflict of interest and would like to foster any discussion over other points of view that need to be covered.

My major justification for creating this page is that LedgerSMB is a significant open source accounting program. We have been covered on Slashdot, LWN, and elsewhere, and given our growth, I think it is important to document the history, controversies, and development of the project in a neutral setting. Furthermore, I would like to invite people who have different perspectives who would like those to be represented to post them here on the discussion page. Especially if there are third party sources for any additional controversies, concerns, or issues, I think that those should be mentioned and documented in a neutral way.
