Here is one April 2026 interview where Leviste came forward with ties to the Duterte’s~2026-25670-26 (talk) 03:11, 28 April 2026 (UTC)
Batangas Rep. Leandro Leviste on Wednesday let the cat out of the bag, admitting that he has long been a supporter of former President Rodrigo Duterte, whose six-year term has drawn widespread criticisms over the supposed unabated corruption and alleged human rights abuses involving his ruthless war on drugs.
Appearing on Bilyonaryo News Channel’s “The Spokes” program, Leviste said continuity in governance could yield positive results and that some policies from the previous administration could still benefit the country.
“I’ve long been a DDS and I think that there’s an insinuation that a lot of people don’t admit that they are DDS,” Leviste said, referring to Diehard Duterte Supporters.
“But to put it on a record, I think that there’s a lot of good that can happen in the country if we bring back the old policies of the previous administration,” the neophyte lawmaker said.
“And the other thing I don’t like about Congress is people are always moving parties to where there’s a budget and 90 percent of the current Congress was DDS during the time of the previous administration,” he added.
