Are you sure of the difference betweeen system A and B. I do not know about river but entering a sea port in Italy yuo should keep red ligh at left and green light at righ (you should enter keeping the color to the same side of the boat where the light of that color is present). This the only reasonable rules. In the opposite way you would think that a bout caming in the opposit direction toward you to be the entrance of the harbour (or the region of the channel you have to use) resultining in a collision. I would also agree that the text: "keep port marks to its port (left), and keep starboard marks to its right" appears to diagree with the picture, which shows the starboard (green) markers on the left and the port (red) markers on the right?. • The statement and the diagram are correct. It is not correct to assume red is port and green is starboard. The meaning of the 2 colours is different for region A and B lateral buoys. Shape is common for both Regions.Mark.murphy (talk) 12:27, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

Why can't lights flash 2+1?

Marks for both regions are noted as including a "flashing light of any rhythm except 2+1." Why is the 2+1 flash pattern not allowed? --Badger151 (talk) 16:03, 21 May 2016 (UTC)
