New Company Name
[edit]Garrett Aviation-->Landmark Aviation-->StandardAero. Garrett Aviation became Landmark Aviation after a 2004 merger, and was renamed as StandardAero after a further merger in 2007. See "Dubai Aerospace Buys Standard Aero, Landmark for $1.9B," Defense Industry Daily, August 2, 2007. So the current article should probably be renamed from Landmark Aviation to StandardAero. The company ownership remains Dubai Aerospace Enterprise.--Mack2 (talk) 04:26, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Then what is this company? http://www.landmarkaviation.com/ Apparently not all of Landmark became StandardAero, remaing as an airport services business. Looks like some more sources and research are needed here before making any drastic changes. - BillCJ (talk) 09:58, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Damn good question, Bill. Maybe a related one is whether there should be an article for StandardAero as well as Landmark. Possibly this is the Landmark that existed (and still exists) prior to Garrett Aviation being merged with it, and now that they've removed the old Garrett (and put into the "new" StandardAero, as they promote it) it's back to it's old stuff. But Landmark isn't what it used to be. Hmmm. Does need more research.--Mack2 (talk) 15:38, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
There is conflicting information in the article (it seems as though it was put there by someone who is associated with the company). I am too tired to sign in, I am User:Teamcoltra 66.82.9.61 (talk) 07:01, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
