During 1971, the north end of LZ Dottie was occupied by B Company of the 39th Combat Engineering Battalion. That year saw several different company commanders as the American forces were downsizing and replacements became a rarity.
The closing of LZ Dottie became more urgent as troop reductions meant longer and more frequent night guard duties. ~2026-41406-19 (talk) 20:51, 24 July 2026 (UTC)
