I am the Chief Scientist of the LOCKSS program. I reviewed the vanity guidelines before editing this page, and I don't believe I have violated them. Although I'm grateful to the creator and previous editor of the page, the previous version contained significant factual errors as to the goals and operation of the LOCKSS system, it failed to cite significant internal and external peer-reviewed sources, and both failed to acknowledge and in one case misused Stanford's trademark of LOCKSS. I edited the page to address several criticisms, primarily to clarify the method of collection, and that the restrictions on use of copyright material were imposed by the license that the publisher granted to the LOCKSS system. DavidSHRosenthal 23:35, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
