This page is listed on the Wikipedia:Disambiguation pages with links page as having a staggering 978 links. However, virtually all of these are not from the article namespace and therefore link to Larry's page. Should we just redirect this page to there? Jeronimo

What exactly does "least mean squares" mean? The link goes to "least squares", and I understand that, and I understand "mean squared error" and the like, but "least mean squares" seems like a mixed metaphor. -- Mike Hardy

I've deleted Least Mean Squares, not only for the reasons given above, but also because if the term has some legitimate meaning, the capitals are not appropriate. Michael Hardy 22:48, 18 Oct 2004 (UTC)

The term is used in electrical engineering and refers to the least mean squares filter. I am not aware of any other possible meaning, and the link to least squares is confusing (and also violates MOS:DAB by pipe-linking). As it seems that the users above also have not heard of it, I am removing the link to least squares. --Zvika (talk) 17:49, 24 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

First section

I'd say the first section, about Last Man Standing, is bullshit... If it isn't, it should probably have its own page. -- OhReally (talk) 12:55, 20 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Redirect to London Midland Scottish

[edit]

I propose redirecting this page to London, Midland and Scottish Railway and then having a disambiguation link to LMS (disambiguation) containing the current content of this page. I propose this as LMS (along with LNER & GWR) are abbreviations that have entered comon parlance in the UK & Europe. The other articles simply refer to abbrebiations that could be conitated from the main article (E.g. Liam Makes Saws) . A similar thing has been done for a lot of other articles (E.g. See MNG). -- Rehnn83 Talk 11:00, 8 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've performed the move as per WP:COMMONNAME. -- Rehnn83 Talk 15:22, 18 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
I strongly disagree and have redirected it to LMS (disambiguation) instead. The Least mean squares filter is very important, and I routinely look it up via the abbreviation LMS. I would go so far to say that the algorithm is much more notable than the rail company (every electrical engineer and communications engineer knows what it is). Thus, we can just have this page to to the disambig page as a compromise. --CapitalR 15:09, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
