• He was charged in 2017 with inciting subversion - Clarify where this was
• There are a few unnecessary commas here: inciting subversion, and served, jet ski, and was detained and sentence, and was deported.
• where he planned to plead asylum. - From what I found, seeking asylum is when someone proactively does it, and pleading asylum is a defense against legal proceedings . Based on the source the phrase used here should be "seek" instead of "plead".
• Johnny Kwon - This isn't sourced in the article

I implemented everything save for the grandfather detail, which I don't think is important. An ethnic Korean having ancestors born in Korea is ... implied.
