Regarding the ethnonyms
[edit]Any ethnic group can be named "Native, Aboriginal, and Indigenous" in their homeland
These generic adjectives should not be part of the ethnonyms
I get your point that "the" should not be put before ethnonyms at the first sentence anyways
However I think "Native, Aboriginal, and Indigenous" should be removed OrientalZenodotus (talk) 03:30, 5 November 2025 (UTC)
- @OrientalZenodotus Sorry, I didn't notice that your edit involved more than the "the". I tend to agree re your other point, feel free to redo that part of the edit. Largoplazo (talk) 03:35, 5 November 2025 (UTC)
Islam
[edit]@Grapesurgeon Regarding your reversion of the addition by @Pinbagas of Islam to the infobox, im sure there's like at least 1 korean in like most global religions
: Might you agree that 200,000 is considerably less insignificant than 1? We do, after all, have the article Islam in Korea, which suggests notability, and that article tells us that the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosts an Iftar dinner every year, suggesting that they consider the Muslim presence significant. Largoplazo (talk) 14:51, 28 July 2026 (UTC)
- This article is about ethnic Koreans. The 200,000 are significant majority foreigners or people who later acquired South Korean citizenship. Can you find a source that discusses ethnic Koreans specifically and statistics on their conversion to Islam? grapesurgeon (talk) 15:02, 28 July 2026 (UTC)
- Fair point. Largoplazo (talk) 15:49, 28 July 2026 (UTC)
- Actually, very good point. I saw "Ministry of Foreign Affairs" and focused on "Ministry" and thought "government", but now it's hit me that the point of it being the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that hosts the dinners is that it's oriented toward residents, perhaps just diplomatic personnel, from elsewhere. Largoplazo (talk) 15:53, 28 July 2026 (UTC)
- Yea Im with grapesurgeon here, since this is about ethnicity its not as relevant. Sunnyediting99 (talk) 23:31, 28 July 2026 (UTC)
