Hotel ???

Is there any hint for that hotel? Is there a link, a source, a reference? I am wondering a bit because its said that those islands are all not really populated - and it sounds a bit of a mess to me to carry lots of water, food, energy and so on to such a small island for the sole purpose of driving a hotel /at the end of the world/ at this place.
