Incorrect images?

First of all, the text says that the direction of the eight directions are N, NW, W, SW, S, SE, E and NE, which is also reflected in the matrixes g⁽¹⁾ through g⁽⁸⁾, but the pictures look like they have been filtered with kernels directed to W, NW, N, NE, E, SE, S and SW respectively. Second, the image depicting the maximum gradient in all eight directions seems inverted – a lighter color often signifies a greater value and a darker color a lower value, but in here, the edges form dark lines. Aren't these mistakes and need to be fixed? —Kri (talk) 16:08, 9 April 2016 (UTC)

Good catch, agree the apparent directions of the images are W, NW, N, ... I also think you are correct that the max gradient image is inverted. Light colors are used for positive quantities in the directional images and should be so for the max image as well. These are mistakes that need to be fixed. It looks like these were copied from the German wikipedia, where the same errors are made. --Mark viking (talk) 18:42, 9 April 2016 (UTC)
