Burien Library Picture

[edit]

The picture of the old Burien Library should probably be replaced with either the new Burien library or another site. Scottm32768 (talk) 19:14, 6 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Bellevue would be a good one, when they finish the parking structure. =) --Dennis The Tiger (Rawr and stuff) 04:31, 17 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

It's very strange that the main picture here for KCLS is (a) for the Burien branch, which has less than half the square footage of the flagship downtown Bellevue branch and has 1/3 the circulation of the flagship, and (b) for the OLD Burien library which was replaced 7 years ago. Although a picture of the new Burien library would be an improvement, a picture of the flagship building instead would make so much more sense. Regarding the flagship branch's new parking garage, it was completed over two years ago. There are pictures of it online but not that include the library itself. The garage entrance is unusual and interesting and there is a good picture of it online, but even so it would be weird to represent KCLS with a picture of a garage entrance. An excellent picture would be the nice one that KCLS itelf uses for the flagship branch. It shows the front of the building, and the garage area is nowhere in the frame. It was taken before the new garage was built but no one can tell just by looking at it. I would try uploading it myself but I'm not sure about copyright. Greg (talk) 07:23, 26 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Another interesting choice would be the KCLS Renton library, because it spans a river. Here's a good picture; not sure about copyright: KCLS Renton Library Spanning River. Greg (talk) 09:45, 26 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
[edit]

I find no evidence that the current legal name of KCLS is the "King County Rural Library District". The only mention of it is in the 2011 history link article here. This can be confirmed by this 1965 court case where the "King Cty. Rural Library District" was sued Link to Justia. However, on KCLS websites, they are always listed as King County Library System, and in this 2007 court case, they are sued as the King Cty. Library System instead Casemine, Justia.

I will go ahead and revert the change in the intro that was made in November of 2025. ChunyangD (talk) 00:17, 4 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
