Improvements probably still needed here
[edit]This topic would probably benefit from attention by a knowledgeable artillery officer, especially a field grade officer with appropriate specialized education. In the meantime, I've added a couple references and cleaned up some things in References and Notes (more work probably needed there). My interest in this topic was piqued by harsh criticism from military tweeters - who seem to know their stuff, based on what I've read of their writing - of a recent article posted on this topic. Unfortunately the critics didn't provide links to sources they considered more worthy. Until a topic expert has a go at this page, the existing article information (which I didn't touch) and references will hopefully do.Sharl928 (talk) 08:49, 1 March 2016 (UTC)
