Odd picture
[edit]The current photo is uncanny; why is there a wig as the only size reference? Also, the kickspace is barely visible; we need a better picture. Reify-tech (talk) 14:15, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
- Yes I agree, there's plenty of pictures on Commons that more clearly show the space. The picture there now is somewhat nonsensical and misdirecting. CrowCaw 16:39, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
- I propose File:Kitchen cabinets drawers installed.jpg which shows the space from an edge-on view, and/or File:White kitchen with dark blue tiling.jpg which also shows how they can have heating ducts installed, as the article mentions. Thoughts? CrowCaw 16:44, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
Recommended toe kick dimensions

Generally the cabinet manufacturers make the toe kick 3" high x 3" deep. This provides adequate clearance for toes, without impacting the cabinet space too much.
However, recently the trend has been shifting toward 4" high or even 4.5" high toe kicks, due to the proliferation of cleaning robots. The body of the cleaning robot, plus the LIDAR sensor towers on top, require this height to get under furniture.
The toe kick can also be a design element, since it allows a "reasonable" introduction of another material that can accent or contrast the color of the main furniture body, or provide a visual transition or delineation between the floor material and the cabinetry material.
