For pure Tele-in-heat, however, it's hard to beat Kerry Marx (K.T. Oslin, Johnny Cash, Elton John, Shania Twain). Marx doesn't actually play a Tele on the superbly arranged and recorded "Wide Open"--and he even alternates choruses on acoustic--but his blistering lines and cool rhythm tones brand him a twang superpower.
