Toaripi may be a common language in the Kerema area, but it is by no means the most popular language in the Gulf Province. As stated it is spoken in the area to the east of Kerema - and 85% of Gulf province is to the west. There are 23 major languages spoken in Gulf Province and numerous dialects. Even in Kerema itself, Kakiae, Opao, Keuru, and Tairuma would be just as common as Toaripi. In addition, Tok Pisin is a recent arrival in the Gulf Province and in Kerema; Hiri Motu is still a widespread lingua franca. Ptilinopus (talk) 14:18, 7 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
