[edit]The Karanle do not claim descent from Harla, if you read the quote in the source (page3) it actually says the Harla claim descent to Kerenle, see below. This ofcourse is an audacious claim but it is not the only claim, the Darod also claim the Harla descended from them.

Please stop revisionising Hawiye history, Karanle is an important clan family of Hawiye descent and said to be the family of Imam Ahmed Gurey.
